1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using OweNo ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

OweNo is a bill-splitting tool that helps users divide restaurant bills among multiple people. The App uses optical character recognition (OCR) to extract information from receipt images and provides calculation tools to assist with bill splitting.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all bill information and calculations
  • You must ensure you have permission to share receipt images and bill information with other participants
  • You are responsible for resolving disputes between bill participants
  • You must not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • You must not upload malicious content or attempt to harm the App or its users

4. Limitations of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OweNo and its operators disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

OweNo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Calculation errors or discrepancies
  • Disputes between bill participants
  • Loss of data or information
  • Financial losses resulting from bill splitting decisions
  • Inaccurate OCR extraction of receipt information

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the App to facilitate fraudulent transactions
  • Manipulate or falsify bill information
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the App's security
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class-action lawsuit.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
